One of the first questions kids ask when they meet a Master Model Builder is, “How can I become a Master Model Builder?” One Master Model Builder suggests brick fans should eat their Wheaties and stay in school. But what exactly does it take to play with LEGO for a living? Over the next four weeks, we'll take an inside look at the personal journey of each of our Master Model Builders, in their own words.
I began working for LEGOLAND Florida Resort six years ago in construction and cleaning. I used my knowledge of LEGO Digital Designer, a free program from The LEGO Group that I taught myself to use at the age of 13, to land my current role as a designer for the resort. It really is awesome; I never thought I’d have the chance to do this for a living.
This job has opened up my mind to the opportunities and potential I have. It’s given me a broader perspective on what I could do in the future. The LEGO experience has really piqued my interest in other educational pursuits such as math, science and engineering.
Next week, we'll introduce you to Angelisa who tells us becoming a Master Model Builder was all about being in the right place at the right time!
